Sir Ian Cheshire

Sir Ian Cheshire is a Senior Advisor to Ardea. Sir Ian brings extensive leadership experience from across the UK and European corporate landscape, having chaired multiple FTSE-listed companies and advised on business, sustainability, and governance at the highest levels.

Sir Ian currently serves as Chairman of Land Securities Plc and Spire Healthcare Group Plc. His previous board and leadership roles include Chairman of Channel 4 Plc, Debenhams Plc, Barclays Bank UK Plc, Maisons du Monde, and Menhaden Resource Efficiency Plc, as well as senior directorships at BT Group Plc, Whitbread Plc, and Barclays Plc. Earlier in his career, he was CEO of B&Q and later Kingfisher Plc.

Sir Ian holds a number of charitable and non-profit leadership positions. He is Chairman of the King Charles III Charitable Fund, the We Mean Business Coalition, and the Institute for Government. He is also President of the Business Disability Forum President’s Group. Sir Ian was knighted for services to business, sustainability, and the environment and is a Chevalier of the Ordre National du Mérite of France.
